Another landscaping and architectural marvel, Nishat Bagh was built by Asif Khan, brother of Emperor Jahangir's wife Nur Jahan in 1633. This splendid garden is also located on the banks of Dal Lake, with Zabarwan mountains as its backdrop. The word Nishat means garden of joy. Like Shalimar Bagh, Nishat is also lined with terraces and streams. Avenues of Chinar and Cypress trees dot the landscape of the garden. There are a total of twelve terraced lawns in the garden. The garden spreads across 6.20 hectares (15.3 acres) and is located at a distance of 11 km from the Tourist Reception Centre.
Flies eat by vomiting up something they've eaten previously so that the chemicals in their vomit can start to dissolve the new meal. When it's sloppy, they suck it all up again. That's why it's a really bad idea to eat anything a fly's been sitting on!
